Teach Mhici Oig - A Bikers Retreat

Located on the Wild Atlantic Way in Co Donegal, Teach Mhici Oig is a traditional self catering cottage situated@ 1/2 mile from the Gaeltacht speaking village of Annagry. With the Glenveagh National Park to the west and the Atlantic coast to the east, it is an ideal getaway set in stunning surroundings.

Shops, pubs and the multi-award winning Danny Minnie's restaurant are all within walking distance and the towns of Crolly, Gweedore & Dunglow only 10 - 15 minutes drive away. If driving/riding is not on the agenda and it's a total break you're after, Donegal airport is 3 miles from the cottage with flights from Glasgow Mon - Friday.

For the rider (and pillion), the fantastic roads around the area are well worth exploring. Follow the Wild Atlantic Way's stunning scenery through Kincasslagh to Burtonport where you can catch a ferry over to Arainn Mor, an island that was in WWII a monitoring point looking for U-boats: further along the coast you drop back into Dunglow then onto Glenties, both buzzing little towns with lots going on. Pick up the R250 and head up to Fintown & cut back through the Glendowan mountains or stay on the N56/R262 for Donegal town.....the county's your oyster ready to be opened & explored, all certainly within a couple of hours ride.

If you want to let the bike cool down, there are plenty of walks around the cottage: turn left and drop down the hill and 10 minutes later you're in the village with its small alcoves and beaches, or left up the hill to a warren of roads that take you up to Rann Na Feirste......all leading back towards the cottage. With the Glenveagh Visitor Centre in the shadow of Errigal, one of the highest peaks in the area, this is outdoor heaven.

Set on one level, the cottage consists of two double and a twin bedroom, bathroom, fully fitted kitchen (consisting of cooker, washer, fridge, washing machine & microwave), lounge and separate conservatory overlooking the bay. Ample parking at the front, large garden to the rear, oil fired central heating throughout along with an open fire in the lounge makes the cottage warm & homely. Bedding and electricity are included in the cost.
