TOUR 3: 6 day 'Iron Butts'

Some big miles on this one, so be ready to ride! We're heading for Sligo via the Darty Mountain range, inland on good roads so the miles will fly by.

The second day we'll head for Galway either by a straight-ish run or through the Connemara National Park - either way, you'll be ready to eat by the time we've checked in. Lots of places to satisfy everyone, ask Andy where he recommends.

Next stop is Funghi's home bay, Dingle. The acclaimed film "Ryan's Daughter" was made in the area, those familiar with it may recognise a view or two. Still big miles, although the bikes will get a rest en route as we take the ferry across the River Shannon.

Off inland on day five, we're heading past the home of Munster RUFC in Limerick to the home of one of the biggest telescopes in modern history at Birr Castle. Although the trip meter will be ticking up quickly, there should still be time to stretch your legs around the grounds if star-gazing isn't your thing...

No trip to the Emerald Isle would be complete without at least one distillery visit, this one is yours. Tullamore Dew has its own unique taste, but save it for when we park up in Navan, our final nights destination.

And so we leave two stunning countries on our last day of this run, we'll head back to Larne via Belfast and its many sights before passing Carrickfergus Castle on our way back to the post... "Safe Home" as they say across St Georges Channel.
