What is 'Training to Test Standard'?
When you have completed your CBT, you may wish to complete the DVSA Motorcycle pursuit test, which will give you your full Motorcycle Licence. You will need to pass a motorcycle theory test firstly, then you can apply for your practical. The fee is currently £90.50 (for parts 1 and 2).

Motorcycles of a power not exceeding 35kW (47 bhp) and with a power/weight ratio not exceeding 0.2 kW/kg and not derived from a vehicle more than double its power, (Minimum 19 years old).

Motorcycle without sidecar, with a cylinder capacity of at least 400cm3 (now 395 cm3) and an engine power of at least 25kW (34 bhp). Therefore upper limit is capped by licence restriction at 35kW/47 bhp.

Any size motorcycle with or without sidecar, (Minimum 24 years old, unless upgrade from full A2 licence, with minimum 2 years experience).

Motorcycle without a sidecar with a cylinder capacity of at least 600cm3 (now 595cm3), and an engine power of at least 40kW (54 bhp)

The pre-test training is conducted on either Benelli or Honda 125's for the A1 licence, on Honda CB500F's for A2 and Honda CBF600's for Direct Access. Lessons are conducted on a maximum 2-1 ratio and run 7-days a week to suit your time and pocket. We can conduct any time-span, ranging from 2-hour sessions to 'intensive' packages of 1/2, full, 2 or 3-days training courses.
Practical tests can be taken in Kendal, Barrow or Heysham and can be booked privately or through ourselves at no futher cost other than the DVSA fee - we don't charge for the 'phone call! |
